Xochiquetzal or “Precious Flower” in the Goddess of pleasure, sexuality, beauty and flowers. She lives on a mountaintop with musicians and female dancers and brings good luck to children. Like many people, Mayans and Aztecs identified flowers with song and chants, perhaps because both are such joyful expressions of life and at the same time are so ephemeral. As with sacred sexuality, flowers and music transport us to our everyday concerns. To our transcendent selves.
